Aairsk X5 vs XT90 vs Q7: Which Electric Bike Should You Buy in the UK?

Aairsk X5 electric bike in Aairsk X5 vs XT90 vs Q7 UK comparison

Throttle and public-road use in Great Britain

A 250W label or 25km/h setting alone does not establish EAPC compliance. The complete cycle must have usable pedals, no more than 250W maximum continuous rated motor power, an assistance cut-off at 15.5mph, and the required markings and safety equipment. Walk assist limited to 3.7mph (about 6km/h) is outside the throttle type-approval requirement. A twist-and-go cycle introduced after 1 January 2016 that can propel itself without pedalling beyond walk-assist speed requires type approval or individual approval, even if it meets the EAPC power and speed limits. An approved twist-and-go EAPC can still be treated as a pedal cycle; a throttle does not automatically make every bike unlawful.

Using pedal assist, avoiding the throttle or choosing a lower display setting does not establish compliance. Department for Transport guidance also treats cycles with a selectable mode capable of motor propulsion above 15.5mph as motor vehicles. Where the supplied configuration or required approval has not been verified, do not use the bike on public roads or cycle paths as an ordinary EAPC. Use only on suitable private land with permission unless the applicable road-use requirements are met. Read the official EAPC and throttle guidance.

Choosing between the Aairsk X5, XT90 and Q7 comes down to how you plan to ride, how much range you need and whether you want fat tyres, full suspension or a lower purchase price. All three are held in UK stock at E Bike Market.

Quick answer

  • Aairsk X5: best suited to riders who want fat tyres and extra grip on mixed surfaces.
  • Aairsk XT90: the strongest choice in this group for battery capacity and suspension, with a 48V 20Ah battery and dual suspension.
  • Aairsk Q7: the lower-cost full-size option, with a 250W motor, 26-inch wheels and Shimano 7-speed gearing.

Aairsk X5: fat tyres and mixed-terrain comfort

The Aairsk X5 uses 20 x 4.0-inch fat tyres, a 48V 15Ah battery and front suspension. The wider tyre footprint is useful on wet roads, gravel, towpaths and other mixed surfaces, although fat tyres add weight and rolling resistance compared with a narrower tyre.

The supplier lists an estimated 40–60km range with pedal assist. Range varies with terrain, rider weight, temperature, tyre pressure and assistance level.

Aairsk XT90: larger battery and dual suspension

The Aairsk XT90 combines a 48V 20Ah battery, 26-inch wheels, Shimano 21-speed gearing and front-and-rear suspension. It is the longest-range model of these three based on the supplier figures, with an estimated 60–100km range using pedal assist.

For riders comparing electric mountain bikes, the larger battery and dual-suspension setup are the main reasons to choose it over the X5 or Q7.

Aairsk Q7: simple, affordable full-size e-bike

The Aairsk Q7 has a 250W motor, 36V 10Ah battery, 26-inch wheels, front suspension and Shimano 7-speed gearing. It is currently one of the more affordable full-size electric bikes in our range.

The supplied Q7 configuration includes a twist throttle. Buyers intending to use it on public roads should check the exact supplied configuration against the current GOV.UK EAPC rules before ordering for road use.
