The VIPCOO VS6 is the lower-cost, lighter option; the VS9 offers a larger battery and hydraulic brakes but is substantially heavier. E Bike Market lists the VS6 at £455 and the VS9 at £899, a difference of £444. Choose around your permitted riding area, ability to handle the scooter and storage arrangements before considering headline power.
UK use: both are privately owned electric scooters for suitable private land with the landowner’s permission. They are not public-road commuting options. Neither a folding frame nor a 25km/h setting changes this. The GOV.UK scooter rules distinguish privately owned scooters from official rental trials.

See the live VS6 listing and VS9 listing for current availability and exact supplied configuration. The VS9 listing describes 3600W as peak power in its detailed text; the VS6 figure is not independently classified here. Do not infer a precise sustained-power ratio or acceleration advantage from these labels.
Is the VS9 worth another £444?
The extra cost is easiest to justify if you already have a suitable private riding area and need the VS9’s larger battery, hydraulic braking and higher listed load allowance. Its price is nearly twice the VS6’s, and it adds 17.7kg of listed weight. That is a meaningful trade-off when manoeuvring it or loading it for transport.
The VS6 is more attractive when lower purchase cost and lower weight are priorities. At 28kg it is still a substantial machine. “Folding” should not be read as “easy to carry”: measure your storage area and confirm folded dimensions before ordering.
Which battery stores more energy?
The VS6 calculation is 48 × 18.2 = 873.6Wh. The VS9 calculation is 60 × 26 = 1,560Wh. On the listed nominal figures, the VS9 stores around 79% more energy. This comparison is more useful than comparing amp-hours alone, because the voltages differ.
It does not prove 79% more riding range. The VS9 is heavier, has a different motor system and can consume more energy when ridden hard. Its stated 80–90km range refers to an approximately 85kg rider; equivalent test conditions are not established for the VS6. Neither published range should be treated as a guaranteed minimum.
Are the VS9 brakes better?
The VS9 listing specifies front and rear hydraulic discs with electronic assistance; the VS6 lists mechanical discs with electronic braking. That is a genuine specification difference, but we have not measured stopping distances. Tyres, setup, maintenance, rider weight, speed and surface all affect braking. Do not assume the higher price establishes a particular stopping distance.
How fast are they?
The listings describe factory settings up to 25km/h. They also state adjusted maximums of up to 45km/h for the VS6 and 65km/h for the VS9. Those are claimed capabilities, not independently measured results or recommended riding speeds. Confirm the supplied settings and follow the manual. This guide does not provide modification or unlocking instructions.
For a purchase decision, the more useful question is whether the rider can manage the scooter at an appropriate speed on the available private land. Neither model is made lawful on public roads by selecting a slower mode.
Weight, fit and storage: check these before buying
- Moving it: decide how you will move 28kg or 45.7kg through your storage route and into suitable transport.
- Rider fit: confirm handlebar reach, deck space, control access and the exact manufacturer’s rider guidance.
- Load: allow for rider and carried equipment within the stated limit; do not confuse maximum load with a recommendation for every rider.
- Storage: request actual folded or assembled dimensions. Shipping-box dimensions are not a substitute.
- Charging: plan a dry, suitable charging location away from escape routes and use only the supplied or manufacturer-authorised equipment.
The VS9 listing gives 6–7 hours with one charger and 3–4 hours with the supplied dual-charger arrangement. Follow the exact manual; do not improvise a dual-charging setup. Never leave either model charging while asleep or unattended. See official battery and charger safety advice.
Which VIPCOO scooter should you choose?
Consider the VS6 if you want to spend less, prefer the lower listed weight and value NFC unlocking. Confirm that its dimensions, controls and performance suit the rider.
Consider the VS9 if you are an experienced rider with suitable private land and transport, and can use the larger battery and hydraulic brakes enough to justify the price and weight. More power alone does not make it the better purchase.
For public-road commuting, neither is the right choice. Compare compliant pedal-assist bicycles and verify the exact configuration against the applicable requirements instead.
Frequently asked questions
Is the VS9 twice as powerful as the VS6?
The published wattage labels use different descriptions, including peak output for the VS9. We cannot establish a directly comparable continuous-power ratio from these listings.
Which is easier to carry?
The VS6 is 17.7kg lighter on the listed net weights. Both are heavy; confirm dimensions and lifting arrangements before ordering.
Can I use one in a public park?
No. Privately owned scooters are not permitted in public places under the current government guidance. Use suitable private land with permission.
Where can I check delivery and returns?
Read the shipping policy and returns policy, then confirm the final delivery options and total at checkout. Ask about the exact model’s warranty and parts support before ordering if these are important to your decision.
